I use IC taxis on a regular basis. Ian and Carol are consistently punctual. they are both friendly. Carol especially is cheerful.

it seems that whenever I ring them they are available. they don’t have a “school run” contract, so they are available between 15.00hrs and 17.00hrs when many other firms are unavailable. if you come in by train, you can rely on them if you book, even from the train.

this Night Time Coffee House and Art Gallery was perfect for before and after a show at the Coronation Hall.

when I was sent an advert card it let me know that it is open mike night on the first and third Saturday of each month. there was an exhibition of screen printed wall hangings up whilst I was there. the card let me know that it’s on ’til 16th September and byJudy Evans. the coffee was nice and the cakes clearly home made.

The Cumbria Grand is a lovely building high above the town with views over Morcombe bay. I think the "Grand" bit must be the presence of the Peacocks. Inside there is a hint of faded glory, but nothing major. my bedroom, on the ground floor was spacious, with an adequate bathroom. The breakfast was stunning. It offered a varied Continental including cheese ham oat-cakes in addition to the expected croissants etc. porridge is cooked to order, and there are the other cereals, plus fresh fruit and yoghurt. The full english breakfast offered the usual sausage, bacon, egg (any way you want them) tomatoes, plus mushrooms, beans, black pudding and potato cakes. If you don't mind waiting for them to be cooked, Kippers are also on the menu, or I found all the staff very helpful. I only stayed bed and breakfast, so I didn't try the dinner menu, although the menu sounded appetising. there is a good menu for bar meals, which are much more reasonable than the restaurant.

this restaurant has an interesting, wide ranging menu of the things which you would usually find together with a few more interesting dishes. I had
sesame and prawn toast £5 followed by Scallops with ginger and chinese vegetables with saki poured over it; £11.50 with egg fried rice £2. the service was good.

they were doing a brisk take-away business, at 20% discount. no-one waited more than a couple of minutes.

C Cabs is a reliable company. I frequently saw him on the rank at the train station. the fare from the middle of Grange to my hotel 1 1/2 m from the station was £3.20. which was metered. another clean comfortable cab with a pleasant driver, who I recommend.

Trevor was punctual and friendly. he stuck to the price set by the area, which he could have deviated from, given that he knew I had just got into the town. a comfortable, clean cab like this is always welcome. there are only half a dozen cabs in this area, and this one is very good. I suspect that he does school runs, so expect him to unavailable at those times.

the park is closed throughout January. it opens at weekends in February, then all week at half-term and weekends through until Easter when the times shown above come into force.

the website is very good, and worth checking for clear directions on how to get there. www.duckysparkfarm.co.uk . they have a club which allows cheap entry (£1) on a regular basis. otherwise Adults are £5.50 and children £4.50.
