O perfil de Dabbelju

Wir kamen bei Kälte und Regen und waren die einzigen Kunden – und blieben es auch.
Leider roch man schon aus etwa 10 Metern Entfernung das Fett, was nicht appetitanregend war.
Die Bedienung war freundlich und hilfsbereit, was sich als notwendig herausstellte, da von den berühmten Saucen kaum etwas verfügbar war. Enttäuschend!
Mein Sohn (Profikoch) nahm die Bio-Büffelwurst, wozu es nur die Normal-Currywurst-Sauce gab.
Zu meiner Kräuterbratwurst gab’s nur normalen Senf. Von Bananensenf und Birnensenf riet die Verkäuferin ab.
Die Büffelwurst war normal bis langweilig, die Sauce auch. Die Kräuterwurst war recht gut, aber nicht besser als eine Kräuterbratwurst aus dem Supermarkt.
Die Portion Pommes war auch sehr durchschnittlich; innen weich und außen nicht sehr knusprig.
Wir dachten, das könne es ja noch nicht gewesen sein und teilten uns noch die berüchtigte Fischcurrywurst. Eine interessante, passende Sauce gab es nicht.
Also gab es eine Schale halb mit Majo halb mit Ketchup. – Soll das Hilton-Niveau sein?
Der Geschmack war interessant, einerseits nach Bratwurst, anderseits auch wirklich nach Fisch, wie eine feste (aber gute) Fischbulette. Die Wurst soll wohl aus fünf Fischsorten bestehen.
Erst jetzt bei der dritten Wurst und etwas Smalltalk mit der Verkäuferin, sagte sie, im Winter gibt ein Kaltgetränk (0,5 l) dazu, was nett ist. (Aber: Hätte sie das auch nach einer Wurst gesagt?)
Zusammenfassender Kommentar: Na ja! (Danach fuhren wir – zum Vergleich – zu “Curry 36”.)

Zu den anderen Qypern: An dieser Stelle gibt es nun mal keine Schnäppchen. Der Platz und die Aussicht sind auch keine Billigware!
Zweifellos akzeptiere ich andere Essgewohnkeiten. Aber als Vegetarier gehe ich nicht zum Fleischer und auch als Moslem sollte man sich nicht wundern, dass es an einer Currywurst-Bude auch eine Wurst mit Schweinefleisch gibt.
Und das in dem wohl höchst seltenen Fall, wo es überwiegend Würste ohne Schweinefleisch gibt (Büffel, Strauß, Fisch)!

Nach so vielen Top-Einschätzungen erscheint es fast überflüssig nochmal die Curry-Baude zu loben. Gewicht hat das Urteil nur im Vergleich mit anderen Ständen. Die meisten hoch gelobten Currywurst-Läden – auch die stadtbekannten wie Konnopke oder Dom-Curry – fanden wir (mein Sohn, der im Sternerestaurant Koch gelernt hat, und ich) ziemlich schlecht bis langweilig.
Hier am U-Bahnhof Gesundbrunnen schmeckt die Wurst sogar noch unter der Sauce sehr gut, hat Biss und guten Geschmack.
Achtung: Die Sauce wurde geändert! Sie ist jetzt nicht mehr so tomatig, was ich persönlich (Geschmäcker sind nun mal verschieden!) noch besser finde.
Also: Insgesamt hohes Lob für die wirklich authentische “CURRY-BAUDE”.
Übrigens scheint es ja bekannt und bestätigt zu sein, dass auch “Curry 36” die Würste von hier bezieht. Trotz allem schmeckt sie mir dort nicht so gut.

Un petit peu charmant avec sa propre atmosphère. Dans la lignée avec le nom il y avait quelques chiens à l'intérieur. Une sélection de vraies bières très intéressante. Ils s'appellent entre eux le "Home of Old Peculier" (mon favoris), car ils en ont toujours. Et le personnel EST gentil! Nous avons vraiment apprécié la visite et nous reviendrons.

Lovely little pub with an atmosphere of its own. In line with the name there were quite a few dogs in there.
A very interesting selection of real ales. They call themselves the "Home of Old Peculier" (my favorite), as they always have it. And it IS nice stuff!
We really enjoyed the visit and will come back.

Quite a good inn with rooms at a reasonable price. The English breakfast in the restaurant is quite good.
The rooms are quite nice and clean and have everything needed as well as the bathrooms.
Also the pub at street-level is pleasant.
No lift.

Simple, little pub, apparantly renovated in a modern style after the flooding.
Good food, friendly service and real ales.
Just not really a pubby atmosphere.

I mostly agree with Cragrat.
A really nice, cosy pub with friendly service.
They had just stopped serving food when we came in. The landlord explained where we could something to eat.
Good choice of beers/real ales.

Well, the Papadoms were good enough.
The food for all four of us was rather bad. The Korma was really disgustingly sweet.
The worst was - no doubt - the service. Slow, uninterested and unfriendly.
Especially, as we really love Indian food this place was so disappointing - and not even cheap!

Average pleasant pub with a lot of space.
Limited choice of real ales.
Nothing really special.
They also do food.

I quite liked the taste of the gingerbread, though one of my front teeth broke off with that stuff. That was the time when my enthusiasm ended.
Their fudge was also average.
