New Inn 300 - Wolverhampton

I recently went to this restaurant, The New Inn. I must say that I was really impressed with the taste of the buffet food. The selection was not that great but the food tasted quite nice. Staff were very polite even though my nephew nearly ruined their icecream machine Lol.
Chic interior, with good lighting effect. I was also very impressed by the way the tables and chairs were arranged, which made it spacious. They also have a pub attached to the restaurant, from what I gathered, it used to be a pub.
It also has a teppanyakki bar service, for all those who do not know what is a teppanyakki(hope I spelt it right)means it is basically a service which allows you to choose fresh ingredients such as meat, vegetable, noodle, sea food and sometimes sauce and then you hand it to the chef who cooks it in front of you, cool! It is much better if there is a wide range of variety. The choice of fresh ingredient was annoyingly limited in this restaurant and also it did not tast great, as the noodles was quite dry. It was very disapointing.
The only problem I had with them was the price kids paid. Adults were charged £8.99 and children under 150cm where charged 6.99, I think that is ridiculous as most restaurant charge kids about halfprice of adult’s fee.Especially as all my nephew had was some chips and sausages, Kids eh?
Verdict: nice tasty buffet food, very tasteless teppanyakki
Request: bring children’s fee down and sort out your teppanyakki !
margate sands - Margate
Margate, Kent
12-07-2010
Arrived on the coach with a glorious sun covering the sky, a recipe for a successful holiday. Suit case in hand, itching to change into something appropriate for a dip in the inviting clear blue water. Margate is the epitome of British seaside, with a stretching landscape of white sand and coves within viewing distance. The fresh smell of the air invigorated my lungs as I aimed to explore this wonderful beach in Margate.
Swimming in the waters of Margate filled me with awe at the wonders of God, the sea.
Patogh - Marylebone
8 Crawford Place, Marylebone, London W1H 5NE

The first opinion of this restaurant may sound snobbish due to the rugged interior design of plain mud-coloured walls, narrow stairs leading to the first floor of laid out wooden tables and benches and a rather quirky manner of service offered. Otherwise, this lovely Persian restaurant is a true hidden but humble gem.
Kebab is the main food served here with fresh ingredient and very tasty rice dishes. I went for the chicken kebab, which was deliciously cooked with lemon marinade and some other ingredients I probably don’t know! Totally just under £10, bargain!
Talking about quirky service: food is served in tin dishes and interestingly no alcohol is served in this restaurant, so for all those who like a bottle of beer with their meal,be careful! don’t know if you can sneak it in.
If you are up for taste and not design, then this restaurant would meet your expectation or maybe you just want to impress your friends.
Good service even though the waiters hardly make any conversation with you, if that’s “not your cup of tea” then you should be fine.
My verdict: cheap, but tasty.
Yippee Noodle Bar - Cambridge
7-9 King Street, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire CB1 1LH
31-03-2009
I have always walked past this restaurant on King street, but never really fancied going in for a meal until a friend recommended it.She was quite hyped about it, so my expectation was sky high.
Great atmosphere I have to say and the food, boy! how fresh. I decided to go for the beef in black bean sauce against my friends’ persuasion to try the noodles in broth,”apparently, it is the best in cambridge” she says. That was after the beatifully prepared starter offcourse. The shared starter and main totalled approx. £12 each.
The staffs were very polite, especially the good looking bar guy,Im sure the ladies will notice him, atleast my friend couldn’t stop smiling at him (she’ll kill me!).
A great place to eat as a group due to the quirky style of bench seat and an environment that encourages chatting, what i mean is:it’s not too posh with waiters dressed in black and white who give you the look if you laugh aloud.
Romantic dinner? I’ll say no.
I gave it a three star rating becuase the main was not extraordinary, the started though was fantastic.
Overall verdict:Fresh food A+
LC's Restaurant - Harston

LC’s restaurant is one of the many Cambridge restaurants that serves contemporary British dishes with continental twist. It stands out amongst many because of its beautifully designed interior, delightful orchards and the atmosphere. It is located in Harston village; I guess it is the reason for its large garden, which must be the envy of other restaurants.
They offer the normal ciabatta rolls with various fillings and generous portion of side salad. They have very interesting menu for their mains, one of them is the goujons of honey-glazed chicken with pine nuts and Greek yoghurt. I thought this was a modern British dish with some French influence, the dishes are beautifully presented making your mouth water and remind you of how hungry you are.
With only about five choices, I thought the desert list was disappointing, considering the fact that English restaurants are famous for deserts. The good news is that they are freshly prepared desert.
The food price is average, with a starting price of £7.25 for the main dish and £4.95 for starters; on average a three-course meal will cost about £18. This I suppose is not a bad price to pay for a meal out unless you want some of the house wine.
Verdict: Good food even better atmosphere
Cambridge Chop House - Cambridge
1 Kings Parade, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire CB2 1SJ

Mmm… what can I say about this restaurant, just opposite King’s college is this hidden gem.
I went there for a friend’s birthday and boy! were we well catered for. I went on the day the it was being filmed for promotion,so “cheeeesse” as you might see me on their local advert lol…
Right! let start with the decor; this restaurant has a mixture of french and italian quirky design, well laid out tables with low beam ceiling if you dine down stairs. Great service and polite staffs. As for the food,I think it is about average, nothing spectacular but very filling I have to say!
My starter of seared scallop (£8) was beautifully cooked, with a less adventourous main of Grasmere Farm’ Thick Cut Bacon, Duck Egg and Chips costing £9.50. I decided to share desert with one of my friends as my pocket was starting to sing.An average dinner will cost about £35,which isn’t overly expensive unless you go in a group. The price means it is not an “everyday” sort of restuarant, but I give my 4stars for great service and atmosphere.
The Old Spring - Cambridge

This is the best pub I have been to and it is arguably the best in Cambridge; I am confident to say that, as I have been to a number of them. The first positive point I am going to give this pub is the location, not far from city centre and the river cam, makes this pub an all rounder. Quiet and relaxing yet bustling with people from all walks of life, mostly just sitting around enjoying a glass of fine Ale. The halogen light in front of the point is one of its noticeable features and it makes the conservatory bright and well lit.
A couple of the tables where I was sitting were empty; I guess it is because we got there at quite a late time of 10.30pm. It was fun just sitting down, sipping your drink and watch people chat around you using all sorts of hand demo to emphasize their point.
I got a very unusual style drink, it was a mixture that was not really mixed together if you get my gist, and it just fascinated me halfway through the night. I am not the one to remain fascinated, so I was quick to mix my drink, mmmm that’s better.
They offer one of the most unusual pub foods I have seen, a little too exquisite to call a pub grub. The all time favourite is home made burger served in ciabatta with tzatziki and salad; the foods are stylishly presented, which adds classiness to the food.
Assessing the toilets of places I go for a drink or meal is a favourite pastime, weird? Yes I know, well it gives me an idea of the hygiene consciousness of the place and especially if I eat there. This restaurant deserve a five star from me in that department, if gorgeous can be used to describe a toilet, then it was. It was airy and well lit, had multicoloured tiles with a full-length mirror, which was one of the many mirrors. It also had an interesting portrait of grape fruit on a vine, I am not sure if that is appropriate for a toilet, but it fitted well.
The have a large beer garden behind the pub, depending on which way you go in. This will make a great place for families in summer; at least they have heaters to keep it warm in winter. They also have disable access, which I thought was very considerate.
The only reason this restaurant is not getting my five-star rating is the attitude of the waiter. I know they might have had a long day and want to go home, but there are nicer ways to go about things. However, this is definitely the pub to impress your friends.
Verdict: Great food and atmosphere, fair service
China Moon Restaurant - Papworth Everard
Ermine Street South, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire CB23 3PB
27-04-2008
This restaurant stands out because of its superb interior. Located just outside town, makes this restaurant a nice place for a long drive away from town with the aim of enjoying your food with some peace and quiet.
The shanghai style roof, just adds authenticity to this restaurant and it does not stop there; inside the restaurant house the tallest vase I have ever seen, it is basically from top to bottom. You can’t help but lose yourself into the interior of this restaurant and if you are able to break your gaze away from magnificent china vases and the geisha screen, then you will be able to concentrate and appreciate the unusual dishes.
They offer Cantonese and Peking dishes with unusual taste; you can excite your tongue with their impressive starter. One of the familiar starters is the sesame toast, this a great place to try new things and not be disappointed.
They offer lunch buffet and have other good offers. Overall, this restaurant offers a nice atmosphere for romantic and family meal out.
Obalende Suya Restaurant - Peckham
43 Peckham High Street, London SE15 5EB
27-04-2008
This restaurant offers Nigerian cuisine, located in the heart of Peckham. A great place for take-away at a very affordable price.
Their signature dish, Suya is made mainly from meat and it is grilled over spitfire and seasoned with very hot spices. This is the best dish in the house and you can try the beef, lamb, goat, fish, kidney….
It is a great place to impress your friends with something different from the usual Chinese or Indian cuisine.
Crowne Plaza,The (Cambridge) - Cambridge
20 Downing Street, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire CB2 3DT
27-04-2008
Located just in the centre of town, makes this hotel quite a convenient place to stay if you are looking to explore the town and the colleges in Cambridge.
They have an extensive car park that you might find expensive, well they are excused, as parking is Cambridge is quite expensive. With an average price of about £90 a night, this is not unexpected from such a grand hotel.
Great room, their gym is well equipped and it is one room worth visiting. The best part of the hotel is the restaurant; it serves very nice lunch and it is very family friendly, with space for children.
Elegance is the best adjective to describe this hotel.
