  Hainburg is one of 13 cities and municipalities in the district of Offenbach. The city is located on the edge of the Rhine-Main area on the banks of the Main.   Hallo meine Lieben Mitqyper,
  
  zur Abwechselung hat es mich mal nach Hainburg verschlagen.
  Zuersteinmal werdet Ihr euch denken wo liegt denn dieses Hainburg, also möchte ich es euch kurz erläutern.
  
  Hainburg ist eine von 13 Städten und Gemeinden im Landkreis Offenbach. Die Stadt liegt am Rande des Rhein-Main-Gebietes am Ufer des Main. Die Stadt liegt östlich von Frankfurt am Main. Im Norden findet sich die Stadt Hanau (Main-Kinzig-Kreis). Hainburg liegt im südlichen Teil Hessens unweit von Bayern.
  
  In der Nähe von Hainstadt sind Überreste einer römischen Siedlung erhalten. Es ist jedoch fraglich, ob zwischen dieser Siedlung und dem erst im 12. Jahrhundert erstmalig erwähnten Hainstadt Siedlungskontinuität besteht.
  
  Wappen von HainstadtAls Gottfried von Eppstein 1425 das Amt Steinheim mit allen dazugehörigen Orten an Kurmainz verkaufte, wurden die Kurfürsten und Erzbischöfe von Mainz an Stelle der Herren von Eppstein neue Landesherren. Im Jahre 1532 wurden durch Kurfürst Albrecht die zu leistenden Frondienste der Hainstädter in Geldabgaben geändert.
  
  Durch die Aufteilung der Auheimer Mark 1786 erhielt Hainstadt einen Teil des Markwaldes. Nach der Säkularisation von Kurmainz fiel das Oberamt Steinheim 1803 an Hessen-Darmstadt. 1882 wurde die Eisenbahnlinie Hanau-Eberbach mit einem Bahnhof in Hainstadt eröffnet.
  
  1977 wurde Hainstadt im Zuge der hessischen Kommunalgebietsreform mit dem Nachbarort Klein-Krotzenburg als Hainburg zusammengeschlossen.
  
  Klein-Krotzenburg
  Wappen von Klein-KrotzenburgCrutzenburch wurde 1175 erstmals in einem Rechtsstreit zwischen der Abtei Seligenstadt und dem Mainzer Petersstift urkundlich erwähnt. Die Abtei Seligenstadt hatte zu dieser Zeit umfangreichen Grundbesitz in Krotzenburg. Bereits damals war der Kurfürst und Erzbischof von Mainz Landesherr in Klein-Krotzenburg.
  
  Während des dreißigjährigen Krieges litt die Bevölkerung sehr stark. Allein 1632 starben 90 Einwohner an der Pest. Am Ende des Krieges ist das Dorf komplett von den Einwohnern verlassen.
  
  Im Jahre 1736 wurde auf der Liebfrauenheide eine Kapelle gebaut, die bald darauf Ziel von Wallfahrten wurde. Durch die Säkularisation von Kurmainz 1803 kam das Oberamt Steinheim mit Klein-Krotzenburg an Hessen-Darmstadt.
  
  1904 Übernahmen Valentin und Anna Rücker das damalige alte Schulhaus von Hainstadt und bauten es zur Gaststätte aus. Später kam dann noch der Hotelbetrieb dazu.
  
  Über die Grenzen hinaus wurde das Restaurant durch seine kulinarische Küche bekannt und beliebt.
  
  1977 wurde Klein-Krotzenburg mit dem Nachbarort Hainstadt zu Hainburg zusammengeschlossen.
