This place is fantastic. Upscale Italian food with neighborhood vibe. The wine list is nothing short of excellent. My favorite is the Conterno Fantino Sori Ginestra Barolo 2003. Marco the chef is creative and friendly and greets many guests by name. I don’t speak Italian but every time I have been there they have made me feel welcome, providing help with the menu and ordering. Be sure to make a reservation in advance. The place really starts to hop at 21:00 and goes strong into the night.

Excellent hotel, one of the best I have stayed in while visiting Paris. I like the central location in the Opera area. The hotel is a short walk from where the Roussy airport bus drops you off. There is a metro stop on block away that makes getting around Paris very easy. The rooms were nicely kept and very clean. I have a nice desk in mine and the hotel provides free wireless during your stay. They serve a standard European breakfast in the hotel and the young woman at the front desk is perhaps the most friendly hotel employee I have encountered in Paris. Its a great place to stay if your looking for an alternative to the cookie cutter Hilton/Hyatt experience.

Wow this pace is popular. We visited on a Sunday evening and the place was jammed packed by 8:30 PM. Its got a great decor and the tables are set with 6 inches between them so if your looking for a quiet romantic place this isn't it. On the great side they have an excellent menu and a fantastic seafood selection. I had the Duck and it was fabulous!! Finished the meal with a great glass of cognac (only 10 Euro for VO

A wonderful location just a short walk from the Champs Elysees. Especially great on this December evening as the street was fully lit for Christmas. The Villa Spicy was a great destination. I enjoyed the rib eye steak, it was small in comparison to US portions but very flavorful. The bearnaise sauce was fantastic. Service was great and they had English menus. My only complaint was the temperature of the restaurant it was damm hot in that place.

My tip is for dessert have a Mille-feuilles poire et chocolat Bio "Madirofolo" de Madagascar with a glass of Coteaux du Layon....you will thank me.

Everything about Retter’s is fantastic. The wonderful garden behind the restaurant is quiet and pretty and offers a perfect place to sample the gourmet food that comes from Retter’s compact kitchen. We did the 5 course dinner with wine pairings and it couldn’t have been any better. My friends Carsten and Axel introduced us to the owner Nicole and she made us feel like we were family. This was the best dinner I’ve had in all of my travels in Europe. Its location near Marienplatz and the Market make it easy to find and get to. I love good wine and every bit we had that night was memorable.

Not bad but not great. Overall, the food was fine but a bit bland. My Spaghetti Carbonera was ok, but didn’t have much ham in it. My friend Axel had a terrible pizza the crust was prepared with holes in it and it was undercooked. I wouldn’t really go out of my way to eat here again. However the prices really were very low and I guess you get what you pay for the average entree was less than 10 Euros. The servers were pretty good although ours didn’t write down our order and it delayed the dinner as he had to come back and confirm what we all wanted.

I’m surprised to see the rating this low. My friend Andreas took us here on Sunday and we enjoyed a great lunch outside across from the Opera House in Munich. The food was very good, portions were large. The service was nothing fantastic and our waitress lacked a smile a crabby disposition. I’d stop here again overall it was a nice experience.
