I wanted to go to art collage at 15 but my parents couldn't afford it.We lived on a council estate. I have three older sisters.
When i left school in 1965 i went to work in a shoe factory in Minehead.
The money was good and i stayed there until i was made redundant in 1983.
I took up my brushes again a few years later, painting a xmas present.

I started to enjoy painting and learnt from my mistakes I find it's the best way to learn. The discipline and planning of a painting is what i enjoy. I will constantly look at my work over several days analising and looking for faults at every stage.
I was brought up in Dunster, Steeped in history with a Norman Castle. As a child having an ice cream in the Yarn Market, smelling the ancient timbers. One has to have feel for the subject to effectively paint it. I love light and reflections on water and the thousands of different colours nature gives us. Everything has beauty, it's seeking it out that's hard.
I now reside in taunton and live with my two teenage daughters.( Although i still have a grown up son In Minehead.)
I take pictures of places,then i select one and paint from it.I will spend hours on a painting. I use Acrylics because it dries fast allowing layers to be applied.

I carry out commissions: painting pets,hotels, pubs houses, or cottages from a photographs.
I also sell quality A4 prints of my work, all personally signed £4.50 each. (Minimum of 5)
