The Cocktail Emporium - Edimburgo

44 Broughton Street, Edinburgh, Scotland EH1 3SA

05-05-2008 (atualizado em 14-07-2008)

If you are into top quality spirits or cocktail making then this is the shop for you. They have a fantastic selection of rum, gin, vodka, bourbon etc and it's like being a kid in a candy store browsing the shelves. The owner (Mark) is a joy to chat to and is extremely knowledgeable and happy to help.

You can buy everything you need in one place for making your favourite cocktail at home, including the barware and glassware. They also do kits that make perfect gifts for all your cocktail-loving friends and family - fantastic!

Something Fishy - Edimburgo

31-05-2008

This is a friendly family run fishmonger offering a wide range of fresh fish ranging from local favourites such as haddock and salmon to more exotic varieties like fresh tuna and monkfish. Their own-smoked salmon is available too - brilliant.

Joey D - Edimburgo

54 Broughton Street, Edinburgh, Scotland EH1 3SA

31-05-2008

Joey D deconstructs traditional pieces such as tweed jackets, denim, and army khakis, reassembles them with leather, zips, and buckles, and ends up with distinctive men’s and women’s garments that are a bit punky and a lots of fun.

His bags are also awesome and are constructed the same way as the clothes with lots of different finishes. There’s an amazing collection of shoes in the back of the shop too. For something unique it’s well worth a visit.

The Smoke Stack - Edimburgo

53 Broughton Street, Edinburgh, Scotland EH1 3RJ

31-05-2008

The smoke stack is definitely the place to go for ‘classy’ wholesome comfort food. The menu is varied and has something for everyone. I love the fillet steak as they do a selection of sauces and great chips. You can opt for a baked or sauté potatoes too. Their flaming fajitas are fantastic and they also do great salads and a nice wine list.

The decor is cosy and inviting. When it’s busy the volume level is quite a lot to deal with but if you like a buzzing environment then this is the place for you. Service has always been attentive and friendly.

bella mbrianna - Edimburgo

7-11 east london street, Edinburgh, Scotland EH7 4BN

I have loved every visit to this restaurant. We have become quite friendly with the staff - so much so that the last time we were there we sampled a tasting menu. We left it up to the chef Rossario to decide what he’d like to serve and out came dish after dish of loveliness. The seafood is a specialty and the quality of ingredients is brilliant. The portions are hearty but not too filling, leaving plenty room for dessert! Try the rum babas - awesome!

It’s worth becoming a regular as their customer service is much appreciated!

Giulianos - Edimburgo

1 Commercial Street, Edinburgh, Scotland EH1 3NQ

27-05-2008

This restaurant is a favourite haunt of my hubbie and I. The atmosphere is homely and extremely child-friendly. The food, booze and service is consistently excellent. The staff are all italian and seem to have great fun working together. We always imagine who will play all the different characters in the film (when they make one) while tucking into our generous portion of pasta! Robert de Niro….mmm….
They have a nice big menu but it’s not daunting and you’ll probably find a few favourites on there that you’ll keep returning too. The location is also a stone’s throw away from the cinema and theatre making it an all-round great place to visit.
GO THERE - NOW!

bliss - Edimburgo

111a Broughton Street, Edinburgh, Scotland EH1 3RZ

27-05-2008

Whenever I need that special pressie I wander down to Bliss on Broughton St in Edinburgh. I’m guaranteed to find something that I like. They have a great boho range of clothing, jewellery and accessories - something for everyone. They have a great range of baby clothes and jellycat cuddly toys - always a winner - as are the baby shoes - too cute for words!
Broughton Street itself is full of a wonderful range of niche shops making a great place for a day out. You can go shopping and get fed and watered too at the many eateries available, then pick up some drinkipoo to take home from some fab specialist booze shops.

Concrete Wardrobe - Edimburgo

This is a wee gem of a shop in a fantastic street in Edinburgh. The range of designer goods is fantastic and well made (oozes quality!). I particularly like the wacky woven scarves and the eclectic range of jewellery. Broughton Street itself is full of a wonderful range of niche shops making a great place for a day out.
