Euphoria - Bromley
London BR3 6PY

(atualizado em 16-04-2009)
Euphoria in Beckenham was not a euphroic experience in the slightest! It started off okay…..I choose the table by the window, I ordered some drinkable wine and was given a little bowl of olives whilst I ordered. The menu looked promising, adventerous starter ideas and interesting main courses. The starter was small thats all I can remember and it was not what I was expecting. Bit of ice berg as a side salad. Disapointing to say the least. Anyhow I was looking forward to my black squid ink pasta with seafood on the menu it says ” You won’t believe your eyes” and I didn’t! A handful of pasta, with a bit of tomatoe sauce mixed through and 3 king prawns. I was furious, I wasnt offered black pepper or parmasan and three prawns for a dish worth £12 is disgusting! I would have complained but my boyfriend had ordered a similar dish and said he didn’t want to cause a scene. We ate the meal with sour faces in about 30 seconds. I left them a priceless tip of how awful their food & service was.
ICEBAR LONDON - Mayfair
31-33 Heddon Street, Mayfair, London W1B 4BN
24-08-2007
The Ice Bar was freezing, they give you big coats to wear with hoods and boy do you need them. You go through to a smallish room entirely made out of ice including the bar, walls, seats and tables. Its all pretty cool and a complete novelty! You are handed an ice cube glasses and you can have any drink on the absolute vodka menu. They are a bit sickly but good if you are getting drunk. You only have 30 mins in the place but you don't want any longer as it gets very cold. All in all an interesting experience for a special occasion.
Below zero restaurant + lounge - Mayfair
31-33 Heddon Street, Mayfair, London W1B 4BN

This restaurant is a pricey affair. It is the restaurant of the Ice bar and is described in some reviews as a tourist attraction, which I think is a slight exaggeration. The decor is amazing in this place, very dark, low tables, tv screens with fires, like being in a log cabin with skins on the wall and a d.j in the corner. We were part of a huge party and it was a good atmosphere for it. The food was nice, small portions and expensive but still yummy. The cocktails were strong and good but again expensive at £10 a cocktail. It came to about £70 per head including the entry to The Ice Bar.
Arbutus Restaurant - Soho

This is a gorgeously rich restaurant. We were treated like kings here, had a lovely seat next to the window. The waiters were quite and helpful. The menu was interesing and inventive and the atmosphere was understated. The food was amazing, extremely rich and fascinating mixtures, very modern european. My parents are chefs and even they did not know how some of the sauces were made to taste so intense. Try it out if you are going for a grown up meal
Restaurant, La Caprice - Westminster
Arlington House, Arlington Street, London SW1A 1RJ

Le Caprice is the sister restaurant to The Ivy and has a similar menu if not the same. My food was very memoriable......a fresh questy squid salad, really good and i am not easliy impressed! The main course was salmon fishcake with spinach & sorel sauce, this was rich, creamy and was mostly salmon. I was very satisified by it! The wine was nice too. The service was quick, not fussy and despite other people complaining that they felt rushed, I didn't feel this at all. The restaurant itself is relaxed, with a piano player and a jazzy kind of feel. I would recommend this place for a birthday or a special occasion with friends. Also lots of celebs go here so people do tend to look around a bit trying to spot someone famous but that all adds to the fun!
sweet basil - City of London
65a Brushfield Street, Spitalfields, London E1 6AA
24-08-2007
Sweet Basil is a huge restaurant with the choice of the pizzeria downstairs or the main dishes and pasta upstairs. We choose upstairs, which was a nice buzzy restaurant. The waiters were really attentive, friendly and jokey. We had nice olives and bread and the maincourses were nice. I had cod with prawns and salad, it was a nice healthy dish, very big portions too! It was a nice place to go to for an Italian meal.....also the desserts looked nice too!!
Lombok - Herne Hill
17 Half Moon Lane, Herne Hill, London SE24 9JU

I love this cute thai place, its all about the food and service, unlike other thai restaurants it is not flashy or orientally decorated but the thai green curry is the best I have come across, fresh tasting with thai aubegines, which i am told are hard to come by. Its a small menu but I think thats a good thing as every dish is mastered and yummy Also reasonably priced & has a chatty informal atmosphere.
Fish! - Borough
Cathedral Street, Borough Market, Borough, London SE1 9AL
19-07-2007
Fish!, set in the middle of the bustly Borough market exceeded my expectations. We had lovely outside seating and a personal friendly waiter who gave us help with the wine list. We had a very nice Riesling to start with our oysters, smoked salmon and devilled whitebait. The oysters were very fresh and served with shallot vinegar- lovely. Our maincourses were light and fresh, you can either have a set dish or select your own fish, how its cooked and which sauce to serve it with.
I had monkfish, which was plainly grilled with salsa verde on the side and steamed carrots, corguette and chicory. Very good! We ordered a second bottle of the Riesling but it wasnt as cold so they kindly bought us a bottle of the more expensive Pouilley Fume for the same price.
Over all its a great place to eat whether it be a casual lunch, a business meeting or a romantic al fresco treat.
LanaC My friend Anna said the portions here were v. small, and that she was still hungry after the meal!

They have fantastic offers on trip advisor for this hotel and it is great choice if you are trying to find somewhere reasonable to stay in Lisbon.
Nice modern clean bathroom and spacious nice bedroom, although a bit characterless.
Good transport links to everywhere, the metro is an experience and very useful and the stop is right next to the hotel.
The hotel has its own jacquizi and sauna which was nice to relax in!
Very good breakfast, great variety of cooked things, loads of options for vegetarian, fruits, hams, cerals, breads, cheeses.
Didn't try out the food though because we wanted to go out in the evenings.
You get more than what you pay for if you stay here, if you are after glitz and glamour don't come here but for a nice clean modern place to stay I would recommend!
Benihana Restaurant - Mayfair
37 Sackville Street, Mayfair, London W1S 3HT

Benihana,
The highlight of this restaurant is that the chefs cook the food at the table on a large hot plate that every one sits around. Some chefs do amazing tricks, flinging bowls at people, flames the lot. This is obviously enjoyable to watch, but makes the seating a little awkward and we had a big party so we felt a bit spread out.
You have set menus and you can choose two of the following... prawns, chicken, lobster, salmon.
You are then presented with a miso soup, then four bits of sushi, the chef then cooks up onions, asparagus etc and your first choice, so lobster for me, which was very nice.
Then he fries the egg fried rice in front of you and you start to munch on that with a side salad, you then get your second option, salmon for me was good, huge portion!
The food was pleasant but the sushi wasn't my cup of tea, but because I eat it a lot I am picky and the mayonaise crab & cucumber rolls weren't anything special. It was however an interesting experience and you get stuffed up by the end of the meal!
Set meal is under £20 but the drinks are over priced but thats Soho for you. Try out for a casual night with friends!
