Since being introduced to this wonderful restaurant earlier this year I have had to go back on each of my visits to London.
Just a stone’s throw from bustling Oxford Street, St. Christophers Place is an adorable little break from all the crowds, although many of them seem to have collected at Sofra - it’s a good idea to book to ensure you don’t have to wait for a table.
While they have crammed a lot of tables in the restaurant, you soon forget about the proximity of your neighbours as soon as they bring out the humus and flatbread for you to nibble on whilst you ponder the menu, and unlike most places these are left for you to pick at throughout the rest of your meal.
Each time I have chosen one of their set menus, which are excellent value: choose the Healthy Menu, a selection of thirteen of their meze, or instead there is the two course Winter Warmer set menu. If you choose the latter I recommend having the mixed starter, a selection of 6 meze, so you can really get a taste of all that they have to offer. By the time you’re finished with that you need a bit of a breather before you continue with the next course but the friendly waiters will have noticed that you’re finished and bring your next plate out straight away which is a rarity in many restaurants.
These set menus are the best way try as much as you can, and appreciate the quality of the food at under ten pounds at lunchtime. There is plenty on offer for herbivores and carnivores alike, so go there and enjoy, you will not be disappointed.
