Whenever I’m in Greektown I always remember to stop in at Astoria, even if it’s just for looking around. The sights and smells of all the awesome pastries is enough to draw anybody in. As far as places like this go, this is about as good of an atmosphere as you can get (it’s somewhere between being in Mom’s kitchen when a pie is baking and being inside a full size gingerbread house). The food is amazing and fresh, the pastry chefs are obviously well trained here. You won’t be disappointed with Astoria, save for the fact that it’s a little pricey and the place is always busy so it may take a few minutes to get served. All that aside, next time you’re in Greektown, do yourself a favor and stop in.
