Schloss Neuschwanstein - Schwangau

Neuschwansteinstraße 20, Hohenschwangau, 87645 Schwangau

09-03-2008

The inventor of Bavarian tourism, fairy tale prince King Ludwig II, had a castle built on a high rock, and thus created the industry of visiting Neuschwanstein Castle as a tourist, at the same time giving an American guy called Walt Disney his first idea how his cinderella castle should look like, and as you see, they built a new Neuschwanstein at Disney Paris. Uniqu place, topp attraction. Like it very much.

Viktualienmarkt München - Altstadt

Viktualienmarkt 3, 80331 München

09-03-2008

Let me have a short look at Munich Viktualienmarkt, a place where flower ladies dance, fruit-and-vegetable dealers trade, cheese merchants hawk their unique tasty products in a traditional folksy Munich setting that never fails to enchant. Love that place, go there whenever I come to Munich.

Basilique du Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre - Montmartre

38 rue du Chevalier-de-la-Barre, 75018 Paris

21-02-2008

This impressing romantic cathedral stands on top of mount st. denis, the historic heart of old paris.

here they say it was built where he, the christian martyr, who was beheaded and went on marching, fell down when he ended his life. anyway, very pituresque building to mourn the dead soldiers of wars mainly against germany, so we cannot call it a church since it never was used as a sacred place, many visitors do not understand that.

Stainsacre Hall - Whitby

Stainsacre Hall, Stainsacre near Whitby, Whitby, North Yorkshire YO22 4NT

26-01-2008

Stainsacre Hall, Stainsacre near Whitby.

Nothing special but a good residential outdoor centre,
situated south of Whitby, in the North Yorkshire moors.

The propery belongs to Middlesborough County Council,
and provides a lot of outdoor activities, starting with archery
and ending with mountain biking. A modest estate with very
much engaged staff, ideal centre to pass a educational
stay in quiet peace. Go there and you will charmed too.

Netty I would love to go to the Yorkshire Moors. I have never been there - Emily Bronte Country!

Bahnhof AstroPléiades - Blonay

Bahnhof, Sternenzug & Sternenlehrpfad, 5881 Blonay

22-01-2008

Starworld Adventueres of the special kind you may find at a very special place, down to earth, at Vevey, to reach via local Blonay train station. Here the startrain starts to Blonay-Pléiades. A star treck train to the stars, or better to the Pléiades, a local space simulation area you will like, here you find an interresting and instructive roundwalk programmeto see how the sun, stars and planets move, made visible what you normally never are able to see or understand. Since the place is high up a mountain slope we can enyoj seeing all the alpine area down the hill and around.

Attention, and do not order a guide to accompany you on the tour, they have got written instructions, the chap will cost you an extra 100 CHFR just for fun, though you will find it easier to understand the star systems much more easy and better having a guide to explain it to you all in detail.

Capernwray Hall - Carnforth

Capernwray Hall, Missionary Fellowship & Christian Holiday Centre & Bible School, Carnforth, Lancashire LA6 1AG

22-01-2008

Capernwray Hall, stately home and residence of the
Founder of Toarch Bearer Community,
Major Ian Thomas.

After World War II where he served as an army officer
in Germany with the British Army of The Rhine,
he dedicated his life and his fortune, mainly his
residence and whole property, the Lord Lieutenant of the county of Lancaster home Capernwray Hall, to serve as the central unit to all his enormous religious activities, founding lots of bible school places and establishing regional and local sections of his Toarch Bearer Fellowship all over the world.

Here it all began, in 1946, when he set out to buy the castle and to converte it into what it is now, the heart of his sacred movement.
