First Class lighting - Yardley

1176 coventry road, yardley, Birmingham, West Midlands b25 8da

An excellent,"first class", good value lighting provider. Very competitive prices and some very ornate/interesting pieces. I'll be heading back to these guys next time i'm in birmingham.

Thanks again!

travelzoo - Covent Garden

90 Long Acre, Covent Garden, London WC2E 9RZ

05-08-2010

TravelZoo is probably my favourite travel website/weekly email. The great thing about these guys is that they put in the hard graft to go out and source some pretty amazing deals. Most of the deals you find in their top 20 are exclusive to travelzoo and can't be found anywhere else on the net. Best deals i've ever found:

- RTN flights to New York for £189

- 1 week 5* All inclusive in Egypt (including flights) for £300 (kinda makes you wonder what the other guests in the hotel will be like though!)

Highly recommended.

YHA Oxford - Oxford

2A 2a Botley Road, Oxford, Oxfordshire OX2 0AB

05-08-2010

Excellent budget accommodation in the heart of Oxford. If you're a tourist visiting Oxford and you're on a budget, this is probably the place for you. Dorms are cosy, but comfortable. Staff are friendly and breakfast is free! Other facilities include - bar, pool table, kitchen, restaurant, clean toilets + loads of travel information for people visiting the UK.

The Loft Bar - Clapham

67 Clapham High Street, Clapham, London SW4 7TY

26-07-2010

You can have 2 very different experiences at the Loft Bar in Clapham.

Experience 1 (the preferred option) - Sunday Roast and a bottle of South African Red. The roasts are 50% off on Sunday and the wine selection is actually very good. If i had 1 complaint, they do seem to run out of roast chicken around 4pm every Sunday. Order more chickens guys! The atmosphere is very chilled out on Sundays and you're guaranteed a seat. This isn't traditional pub dining, but it's decent nonetheless.

Experience 2 (only for the brave) - Friday night at the Loft are pretty hectic. It attracts a relatively chic crowd (compared to Inferno's) and the do good cocktails. Unfortunately, seating areas are limited so it gets VERY busy in here. It's even pretty tough to get enough room on the dance floor to throw down some decent shapes.

All in all, a solid 4 stars.

Chez Bruce - Wandsworth

2 Bellevue Road, Wandsworth, adj Wandsworth Common, London SW17 7EG

26-07-2010

Often regarded as one of the finest restaurants in London, Chez Bruce in Wandsworth is an absolute treat. 5 star dining on the fringe of Wandsworth Common. As the reviewers below mention, you can eat here affordably (dinner is very expensive mind). A 3 course lunch special will set you back £25 - Fois Gras, Tuna steak, Fresh mussels.... you'll get it all here.

Probably the best restaurants i've eaten in while i have lived in London. Possibly the best restaurant i've been to in the UK. If i could give 6 stars, i would.

Le Grenier - Bethnal Green

146 Bethnal Green Road, London E2 6DG

23-07-2010

Awesome shop. I could spend hours in here up in the Attic! Fantastic vintage furniture all at reasonable prices.

Clapham Tandoori - Clapham

10 Clapham Common Southside, London SW4 7AA

23-07-2010

A decent Indian restaurant on Clapham High street. The Clapham Tandoori is chic, centrally located and reasonably priced. Does it beat Maharani? No. Does it beat Golden Curry? Probably.

Recommended dishes - Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Sag, Bombay potatoes and Lamb madras. All were great.

Tom's Place - Chelsea

1 Cale Street, London SW3 3QT

19-09-2008 (atualizado em 19-08-2009)

The best thing about Tom’s place is the breakfast. Try the bacon sandwich with homemade ketchup. If you’re hungover, this is like a shot of life into your body. Friendly staff and when you look at the menu, i guarantee you that you will want to order EVERYTHING.

Freebird Burritos - Soho

Rupert Street @ Winnett St, Soho, London W1D 6DS

24-01-2009

Woahhh Nelly! These are good burritos. But watch out, it would appear Freebird have some competition on Rupert street now. A malay/thai curry place has setup shop RIGHT opposite the burrito stand. Haven’t tried it yet, but i wonder how this will impact business? Probably not much at all. These are the best burritos in town hands down.

Fitness First - Clapham

34 St. John's Hill, Clapham, London SW11 1SA

23-11-2008

One of the better fitness first gyms in SW london. Decent sized changing rooms and a good space for weights, spinning and a dance studio. My gripe - Fitness First should really give you free towels. £1 a go! You must be joking!
