Been here a few times to visit, it’s got a great secluded beach that’s well worth a trip up to if you’re staying in town.
The rest of the hotel is small villa-esq, very Portuguese and very quaint.
The only issue is the cafe, the food has gone downhill in the last 2 years and the prices have definitely risen dramatically, not helped by the recent fall of the pound - so not particularly good value for money.

Definitely an iconic building, though for me, doesn’t do quite as well on the inside as it does on the outside, which is a bit of a disappointment.
It’s also not quite as white close up as from a distance, though watching in when coming in on the Manly Ferry is a joy to behold!
Harbour Bridge - Sidney

Personally think the Harbour Bridge is far more stunning than the Opera house when up close. An amazing feet of engineering.
Of course, there’s the bridge walk which is good for the daredevils. For those that want to just sample the scenery, the Harbour Bridge museum is really something quite special and gives a unique insight into how it was built.
Not forgetting the harbour views!
manly beach - Sidney

Beautiful beach, far less crowded than some of the others in the city, overall just a wonderful place to be.
Lots of shops, bars and pubs within walking distance of the beach, which goes on and on.
Definite must-see.
Fraser Island - Brisbane

Excellent place to spend a few days - see some of the beauty of the East coast.
Largely uninhabited, this is the perfect place to take a bus tour or rent a 4×4 to go through the forest and zoom down the beaches.
Very popular place with backpackers, totally beautiful.
Magnetic Island - Brisbane

Great little island tucked away off Townsville, North of Brisbane. Got a lot of character, doesn’t suffer from being overly touristy, well worth a stay for a bit of a chill out.

This has definitely dropped since I wrote the first review. They’ve changed the menu and binned the all-day breakfast which is a real crime. Of course the price has risen - just at the point when I was thinking how much better than the GBK this place is.
Still good for a burger, even if the selection is not as good as it once was.

Excellent local little restaurant, serving authentic Indian cuisine with really good, friendly service.
They do sauces for the local Waitrose - so it must be reasonable. They also do a good takeaway, as you would expect.
The Links Hotel - Liphook

Good pub, famous for being a drinking Hole of George Best and Peter Allis.
Undergone various changes over the years, but at the moment is serving good gastro-pub cuisine at gastro-pub prices. Nice and spacious inside, it’s a good for a Sunday afternoon.
Hôtel Littré - Montparnasse

Lovely little 4 star hotel conveniently located near Paris’ nightlife spots.
Easy access to the Metro as well. The hotel is quite typically Parisian, being small but perfectly formed and reasonably good value for what you’re getting.
Probably in the mid-4 star range, but still the room was comfortable and clean so can’t complain.
