  Visited this bar on a weekday evening and it was a lovely chilled out bar to meet up with friends in a great location. You go downstairs to the basement bar which has a very cosy feel to it. Ideal for getting away from the busy streets above after a hard days shopping.With large wooden tables, it's an ideal location if you are looking to meet up with quite a few friends.
  You can also book a table (although I'm not sure if this is available on the weekend). The beer selection is quirky and different- the barman looked at me a little strange when I asked for a corona...but refreshingly different all the same. The music was great, bob dylan was a perfect soundtrack to a rainy afternoon, although I've heard it can vary lots on the weekend.

  What a joy this shop is! Part of a chain (I've even been in one branch in Brighton), it still manages to retain it's unique boutique feel when you walk into it. The best time to visit Octopus would be Christmas time, when you are looking for some stocking fillers, as that is what it does really well. Colourful quirky gifts ranging from tweezers with characters painted on them, hairbrushes also hand painted and jewellery in a wonderful variety, this store will definately have something for you. I bought my mum who is a nurse a wooden carved pen from here shaped and painted into a nurse. It is these kind of thoughtful, unique gifts that you can find in octopus.
  There are also some more bizarre gifts, such as hand painted toasters and handbags shaped like watering cans- but whatever takes your fancy.
  This boutique isn't cheap, but you could still pick up a small gift for under a tenner if you were on a budget.
