Another tapas place. This one is hidden away on Grey St, down ome stairs. There's a nice bar area aswell as the main restaurant. The food is really nice and the atmosphere is good too, the staff are friendly and laid back, which is what you want when you have tapas. They'll keep bringing you more and more food. The sangria comes in nice big jugs (bigger than el torero!) ad once you're settled, you can stay all night quite happily!

Nice bar. I used to live here and go a lot, and whenever I go back, we always end up there. It is always mega busy, I like it best in the afternoon when you can get a seat! The food is really nice and the service is good too. The wine is lush too! It's got some nice nooks and crannies.

This is a cafe on the beach at Tynemouth. It gets really really busy on nice days and most weekends. It's a very popular venue for families and surfers too. They do a lovely sausage sandwich! They are unbelievably friendly, even when it's rammed! The view is beautiful. It's recently been redone inside and is really cosy, you feel like you're in a boat! Highly recommended

Pots and Pancakes is a lovely experience! They serve food and coffees etc, but the main pull is the chance to decorate your own cups, pots, plates etc, have them fired then take them home. It's a really nice thing to do, especially with children. Plus, the pancakes....lush!!

Roal Quays is a nice complex, it's not huge, but it's adequate, and it's location means if you go from town to the coast for the day, you can stop off on the way home and look for bargains! The Next outlet is pretty good, the M and S is variable, but the cakes at Thornton's cafe may well be worth the trip alone! They sometimes have events on (e.g. a dog show!) which is quite entertaining.

This place is definately atmospheric! It gets really busy but the crowd are really friendly and it's so cosy! If you can get a seat you'll probably not move all night! The drinks are reasonably priced too. Definately one of my favourites.

Whenever I head down to see my family in Cheltenham, we go here. The pizzas are HUGE, you have been warned! They're as tasty as they are big though! The lunch offer is fantastic value. It gets busy at the weekend, so book. The staff are lovely, and very accomodating. It's recently been done up inside and has a nice, no frills look, for an excellent italian meal!

Another classy bar for a drink, perhaps pre-theatre, or just as part of a night out. I've not eaten here, but for drinks it's lovely. The lighting is nice and subtle, the cocktails are great too. There's some nice squashy seats upstairs, watch it though, I struggled to get up from mine once! The building is really old which gives the place a slightly grand appearance. They do mussels and chips, have always been quite intrigued....might be worth a try! Drinks not the cheapest, but the environment aks up for it. A nice mix of clientele.

This bar is really in the perfect position, right next to the station, as if you meet someone new to Newcastle off the train, they will be well impressed with a quick drink in here. The interior is gorgeous, high ceilings, intricate detail, and plenty of sofas. It's so much nicer these days too following the smoking ban, it used to be a bit smoky in there, but it's great now. It's always busy too, because of the location. Drinks maybe higher side of average. The local bands are really good, well worth making the effort mid-week.

Now then, I love it here and go regularly, but I know some people who aren't so keen! However, I think the food is cheap, reliable and the service is usually spot on. They also make a fuss when it's your birthday! The mexicana risotto is my personal favourite....!
