Murder One - Leicester Square

71 Charing X Road, Leicester Square, London WC2H 0NE

07-08-2007

I love this book shop.

But be warned, if your are into serious, stuffy, borring, or real reading, this is not the shop for you!!! So stay away and keep it clear for the rest of us! (grin)

Murder One only sales fiction, and not just fiction, but the best kind of fiction: Crime, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror and Romace. So if you are looking for The latest Biography, or Thomas Hardy, you will be out of luck, but if you are looking for the new Jasper Fforde novel, or that Christeen Feehan that was just released in the states but not the uk, this is the place.

They do low volume imports from the US so you can get your favorite amarican authers the same day or the next day as they release in the states. It's a crowded shop cramed full of fictional goodness from floor to cealing and you can't go in with out finding that book that you didn't even know you couldn't live without!

Ed's Easy Dinner - Covent Garden

15 Great Newport Street, London WC2H 7JE

07-08-2007

Ed's is a great place to go if you want a taste of Amercian 50's style dinner dining. They provide a classic menue of Burgers, Hotdogs, Fries and Milkshakes, along with chilie or salads. And we can't leave out the Apple and Pecan Pie, ooooh its good stuff!!

The location, as well, is very convinent as it is right in the middle of the west end, two minutes walking from Leicester Square.

I am an American living in London and it is nice to go somwhere that feels a little bit like home, but a little bit is all it is. The 50's dinner asthetic is there, and spot on, but while the menue is right, it's just not quite the same. However, in spite of this the food is still good and my friends and I still really enjoy meeting up at Ed's.

Electric Cinema - Notting Hill

191 Portobello Road, Notting Hill, London W11 2ED

What a lovely eveing! This is a wonderful place for a date, but you do need to book in advance. You know its a wonderful theater when you could see Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix or Buggsey Malone, they show a very interesting blend of old and new movies. The chairs are leather lounge chairs with automans or two seater sofas wich provided you with the most amazing thing of all... space. It was more comfortable then watching a movie in my own home. And the attached resterant was excelent, with wonderful food for moderate prices. On the whole a great night out in London.
