I came to eat at Gary Rhodes restuarant at the Cummberland hotel. The Rrestuarant is very modern and well designed with plenty of space between each table. There is a bar just outside the enterance where you can have a nice champagne cocktail £10. The staff in the restuarant are very well turned out and very polite. The menu is tradional British, Irish stew, pork belly and black pudding etc. The food was fantastic as was the service. Not as expensive as you might think, meal for two, two courses with wine £70.

This pub is good for watching football, rugby and cricket. As the name suggests this is an Australian themed bar, it serves a reasonable selection of beers and ciders. They even have some wine too! And pints of snakebite, if you wish. The food is a mixture of Aussie and British pub food, good portions not the best quality. The pies are good though. The emphisis is on sport though, I have watched rugby world cup finals here, football world cup finals and countless football and rugby matches. Match day is not for the fainthearted! I would adivse(when possible) arriving two hours before kick off for big games, no joke. The door is staffed to prevent overcrowding and there is often queuing. The atmosphere though is amazing, with plenty of fans for both sides turning out with lots of friendly(mostly) banter, singing and cheering. There is a large projection screen and ten flat screen tv's mounted on a gantry that runs aournd the pub, so you can always see. It's the next best thing to being at the match. I watched the England v Australia rugby cup final here(7.30am) and it was fantasic, and I'm scottish! Don't come overdressed because it does get very warm and there is no facility for jackets and jumpers etc. There are even screens in the gents above the urinals! Go with a group of mates.

The food here is superb. It is very much a traditional restuarant serving sausages and steaks. pies and liver etc. The interior is very well lit and complements the immaculate decor and there is a decent amount of space between the tables. The service is excellent and the food of a very high standard and wonderfully presented. The wine list is very good and not too overpriced. All in all a very enjoyable dining expierence.
Dorint Hotel am Heumarkt Köln - Altstadt-Süd

I was lucky enough to visit this hotel in October last year, my freind insisted that we go there for the Irish coffee. The hotel is rather ordinary from the outside, however the interior is very well done in a classical grecian/roman style. The bar is pannelled with a fantastic ceiling, rather dark though. The irish coffee’s are made on a little stand that has a small pariffin jelly heater that heats the whisky and the sugar before the coffee and cream are added. Very impressive to watch, even better to drink! I can also recommend the champagne cocktails, and they have a very good vodka made from grapes! As you can tell, it was quite an afternoon, very good service and rather expensive. I’m returning to this hotel in Febuary to watch the Cologne carnival, and will advise accordingly.
Lugger Inn - Fowey
Fore Street, Fowey, Cornwall PL23 1AH

This a tired pub with a rather tired menu. Jacket potatoes and burgers with a range of sandwiches. Sadly, unlike it’s namesake across the river in Polruan, it feels the need to charge extortionate prices! The burgers are shrivelled and bland and the prawn sandwich and a bit of salad £6.50. Do yourself a favour, nip over the road and get yourself a nice, hot homemade pasty from the bakers. The pub is in need of renovating and the menu in need of an overhaul. Very disappointing.
Galleon Inn - Fowey
12 Fore Street, Ensuite Accommodation, Fowey, Cornwall PL23 1AQ

This is a pleasant pub situated in the heart of Fowey. It is right on the river and overs a wide range of pub food, the burgers are good. The meals are well presented and of good quality. The pub has a decent pool table and a decent slection of local beers and your usual lagers. In addition they serve coffee and a selection of tea. The pub also offers accomodation. The interior is light wood and bright. There is also a covered outside area. The staff are friendly.
Lugger Inn - Polruan
The Quay, Fowey, Cornwall PL23 1PA

This is a fantastic pub in the cornish village of polruan, it is situated on the quay where the ferry from Fowey docks. The menu is your usual pu grub, with a specials board and a good selection of fish. The shepherds pie is really good, as is the fish crumble. The prices are low and the meals of a good standard. The bar has a good choice of lagers and a range of local beers from the local St. Austell brewery. They also serve decent coffee. The interior is a bit tired in the bar area, however, there is an elevated dining area with a serving/ordering counter. The pub also has a pool table and a dart board. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the service excellent. Highly recommended.
The Britannia - Swiss Cottage

This was once a vibrant communitiy pub. There was a fantastic mix of local people and in it’s heyday posted two very good dart teams and a pool team. There were a sucession of managers in a 20 year period, Scottish Dickie, Welsh Nigel and Malcom and Barbara. However as local “Bad Elements” barred from other pubs in the area started frequenting the pub and the quality of managers dropped the pub became a hang out for hooligans and went down hill rapidly. The pub closed it’s doors for the final time in 2004/2005. At the time of writing is is being transformed into a Tesco metro.
Planet Pizza - Kilburn

This is a very shiny pizza takeaway. The pizza menu is extensive and ensures there is something for everybody. However the pizza’s are not as good as they sound, the pizza’s i’ve had delivered to my flat, 5 minutes away, were often soggy and the base had softened to the extent where i was unable to pick the pizza up, disappointing. Even waiting for the pizza yourself does not eradicate the poor base/cooking. As with many pizza takeaways they employ non-skilled people to do a skilled job. With a Domino’s nearby they really ought to try harder. Priced for quantity, not quality.
L LO I am really sorry to hear that your pizza was “soggy” We know have trained all of our stuffs! so we make sure this doesn't happen again we have employed new range of stuff and therefor offering you a one FREE pizza with an order to say were sorry! hope you order from us soon thanks please mention (RAHMAT has said) when ordering

I have been eating here on and off for 20 years. It is superb, located twon minutes walk from Finchley road tube station. The interior is not very exciting, there is seating for 20 people upstairs wit a dining area downstairs. The menu is italian home cooked and the food is amazing, chicken diavola is my long standing favorite consists of babyicken cooked with chilli and garlic, the ministrone is great and rather filling. You also have a selection of pasta dishes, arriabiatta, lasagne etc. The wine list is italian reds and whites. The service is very friendly and makes for a great atmosphere. Locals have been coming here for decades whether for a glass of wine and bread or quiet birthday celebrations guaranteeing the warmest of welcomes. Meal for two with wine £45. Highly recommended.
