Co-op Food - Morpeth

Widdrington Station, Morpeth, Northumberland NE61 5ND

02-12-2011

This is quite a small co-op but the nice thing about it is that its open until 10pm every night, it also has a post office. It sells magazines, fresh fruit and veg, it has quite a big chilled section and a smaller freezer. There are always offers on and the staff are so friendly here. There is parking for 8 cars behind the co-op. Careful when coming throuhg the village as the barriers on the train tracks come down every 15 minutes so you will most likely get stuck at them

Widdrington Inn - Widdrington

Morpeth, Northumberland NE61 5DY

06-08-2011

A nice little pub to pop into quickly before a walk along druridge bay. This pub used to serve good food – its a first come first serve basis but today after waiting half an hour for a burger, I think that they had forgot to put our order through. Some families who had came in afte us got served first and after asking and being told they were busy, the food cam 5 minutes later. It was overdone, tough and not what they are usually like, I dont know if they had remembered us and just left the food on the cooker for an extra 25 minutes as I might look lik I like me food turned into charcoal.
The manager wasnt there today and since we had paid when ordering I didnt bother to complain but it has put me off trying this place again.
Its around £8 for a main meal £16 for steak with £2.50 for sauce and £10 for a meal from the specials board.
Worth it for a glass of coke before heading elsewhere but not what it used to be

Marshalls - Tynemouth

33 Front Street, North Shields NE30 4DZ

31-07-2010

Went today for lunch while at tynemouth priory - this place was pretty packed though it was lunch time managed to grab the only spare table left. Its quite small in here with a long line of tables on each side. The waitresses took our order really quickly though the fish did take a long time to come that may have been because they were so busy.

The fish its self was a large portion covered in golden batter which my fiance states was lovely. i can not confirm this but can state that the chips were proper fat tasty chip shop chips and the mushy peas were almost as good as his mams.

Its £6.00 for fish and chips, the turks head on the same street does this for £3,25 but dont taste half as nice. Well worth a visit if you are in tynemouth

Chez Pierre - Edimburgo

18 Eyre Place, Edinburgh, Scotland EH3 5EP

Yes I went here well I had heard of the bloke that owns the resteraunt and I dont think I will ever get to eat in any of gordon ramsays resteraunts so here it was. Anyway I must say that this place is really really good its not expensive and it has lots of vegetarian food. Try a cheest tartlet very tasty my dad had the lamb which always keeps him happy and it was nicely cooked the food was presented very well and the staff were friendly but very fast. Great food and considering where you are a really great price

Café Concerto - York

21 High Petergate, York, North Yorkshire YO1 7EN

Okay after that disasterous trip to Paris way back when Im not really into france but someone had said that this was a good place to go for cake and I do love a good bit of cake. The place is a little odd with random odd furniture and sheet music on the walls. We went in the day time as I dont get to stay in York to often overnight
My lovely fella tried the tomato soup which was rich and thich and quite nice apparently. I dont like this soup so I had a bread thing which had cheese veg and tomato melted over it which was quite nice. The puddings were lovely though I went for the chocoalte cake which was gooey and sweet and knicked some of my fellas croissant which was warm and tasted even better with some chocoalte cake on top. It was quite good though they werent that quick but thats okay as I am never in a hurry when in York

Biergarten - Orlando

Epcot, Orlando

This is a really cute place - unfortunatly its in disney so you would have to go in to visit disney. Once you bite the fact that it costs loads to get into disney this resteraunt isnt very expensive at all. It is a quite little village scene set in the sixteen century. It has a shop attached to it which sells hummel figures and tankards to take back home. The main thing they do here is a giant all you can eat buffet in the beirgarden getting served by pretty girls in leidehosen and later dancers come allong for a show that is does a few times a day they have dozens of different salads on the buffet cabbage cucumber and pickles There is also lots of cold cuts of meats and cheese and dressings
The hot food is lots of big sausages breat wurst with pickles mustard and pork and onions chicken and roast tatties

Dessert you must try the strudel lovely rich stuff worth a visit only if you are already in disney

Brazilian Sensation - Edimburgo

117 Buccleuch Street, Edinburgh, Scotland EH8 9NG

10-07-2010

I saw this place in one of the guides at the b &b when I went for a family weekend to Edinburgh. It sounded nice so I though that i would give it a go so glad I did though my dad took a little persuading Its one of those really small places that I keep seeming to find myself in here where if you have more than a few families in and you will be knocking elbows. The staff take a little while but that is probably due to the fact that it was pretty busy when we were there. Its not far off the area where there are a lot of B & Bs and you walk past it to get to the main city part of Edinburgh, its too bright to miss really. In the evenings they do big meals loaded with ginger garlic and coconut. The coconut rice is really nice but I would get one to share as I didnt need a full one I tried the sweet potota dish which was cooked really nicely. Its a byob place and there is a good drinks shop nearby to pick up some nice wine
If you want to make sure that you get in I would make a reseravtion

TGI Fridays Newcastle - Newcastle upon tyne

The Gate Newgate Street, Newcastle upon tyne NE1 5TG

10-07-2010

Okay i still think its a travesity that they knocked down the mayfair to build the gate but this is quite a nice place. Like the ones in the states there are a little large a little loud but filled with great food. If I were you I would wait until you have a big appetite and go in when the 3 course deal is on the potota skings piled high with mushrooms chees and sour cream could finish anyone offf and thats just a starter the veggi quesidlla is really filling my fella was partial to the chicken cesar salad but you can upgrade to a steak The pudding is just the best go for the warm brownie with fudge sauce and ice cream mmmmmmm. They do have kids meals and meals to share if you are going as a family If you are going on a birthday register online first as you get a free treat for you and up to 7 friends of free cocktails champagne shakes or desserts well worth a visit for that alone If you are after a different tasting cocktail give the gremlin a go

The Fujiyama - Newcastle upon tyne

35-39 Bath Lane, Newcastle upon tyne NE4 5SP

10-07-2010

This is a great place to come if you want to be entertained as a family There is a waiting area for you to sit in before you are shown to your table. The tables are encasing a chef who cooks your meal in front of your eyes while doing the occasional trick. For starters you can have anything from steak to fried tofu. As a main meal you can have sushi or something sliced and diced in front of you. My favorite dish is the bean curd udon noodles you will probably have to slurp though so not good for a first date. They do have a early eater set menu if you want to have a lot but pay a little less, if you want to try great food at a place with a fantastic fun atmosphere this is the place to go

Simply Greek tavern - Newcastle upon tyne

2-4 Bigg Market, Newcastle upon tyne NE1 1UW

10-07-2010

This is a nice little place which I normally would not go to as it is not an area I drink in when going to Newcastle but I have wandered past here a few times and decided to give it a try. The place inside is light and airy but they have managed to fit the tables quite closely together. The staff are all really friendly and quick to serve. The food itself was delightful, I must admit though that I love greek food. I started off with olives and dolmades which reminded me of being back in greek and then went onto a really tasty spinach pie. Garlic bread was shared and my friend got a great plate of spagetti and meatballs which reminded me more of italy. Still there are several main greek meals on the menu - a few for vegetarians. Its not the cheapest place in town with it being 8-9 for a main meal and there are closed places where you can better offers but if you want an authentic taste of greek this is the place to go
