The music in Meyer’s is quite ok if you take in account that they stay away from the really bad stuff (German folk music etc.).

As long as it isn’t too crammed it’s quite agreeable. I.e. it’s nice that you can play tabletop football.

Unfortunately the separation between smoking and non-smoking section is totally crap so that you will still leave the Meyer’s stinking like hell.

Die Musikauswahl im Meyers kann man als angenehm dezent beschreiben, wenn “dezent” heißt, dass auf die ganz bösen Sachen (Schlager etc.) verzichtet wird.

Solange der Laden nicht zu voll ist, lässt es sich hier ganz gut aushalten. Nett ist zB, dass man hier auch Kicker spielen kann.

Leider ist die Raucher- / Nichtrauchertrennung völlig nutzlos, sodass man das Meyers immer noch wie geräuchert verlässt.

Taken into account that it is a chain bookstore a really agreeable shop. I have mostly experienced the service as nice and competent, though I would not ask them for advice on a novel to chose.

They have a really cozy lounge in the middle of the store where you can read some pages while waiting or just relaxing.

Dirt cheap bookstore. The assortment mainly consists of cheap photo books and best-selling novels. Not to forget all the rummage which has nothing to do with books at all. In my eyes the most unneeded bookstore in town.

During summer the Louisiana is a great location to have a nice evening in downtown - actually one of the few places in Siegen where you can sit outside on the streets.

Unfortunately it’s really crowded on the few sunny days Siegen’s summer usually has. Be prepared to experience some drunkards trying to spread their “fun” from on the early afternoon.

The personal is sometimes a bit slow and unfriendly.

Für eine Ketten-Buchhandlung sehr angenehmer Laden. Service und Beratung habe ich meist als recht gut und kompetent erlebt, auch wenn ich mir hier nicht unbedingt Buchempfehlungen aussprechen lassen würde.

Angenehm ist die Sitzecke in der Mitte des Ladens, wo man bei ein paar Seiten Literatur gut seine Wartezeit verbringen kann.

Ramschige Ketten-Buchhandlung, deren Sortiment bevorzugt aus billigen Fotobänden und Bestsellern zu bestehen scheint. Ach ja, nicht zu vergessen den an einen Ein-Euro-Shop erinnernden Kram, der mit Büchern erst gar nichts zu tun hat. In meinen Augen die unnötigste Buchhandlung in Siegen.

Im Sommer ist das Louisiana eine gute Location, um einen lauen Abend in der Innenstadt zu verbringen - einer der wenigen Orte in Siegen, an denen man innerhalb der Stadt draußen sitzen kann.

Leider ist das Louisiana an den entsprechenden seltenen Sonnentagen im Siegerland meist deutlich überfüllt. Nicht untypisch sind auch Betrunkene, die bereits am frühen Nachmittag “gute Stimmung” verbreiten.

Die Bedienung ist manchmal etwas langsam und eher unpersönlich.

More expensive fast food restaurant with huge and high quality variety of fast food. It’s specialty are the extra-thick french fries it is named after (which by the way taste much better if fried a minute longer than usual).

Besides of them there are western potatoes and several sausages served with a huge variety of sauces. This selection is the real advantage of Big Potatoes.

Upscale restaurant and beer garden which is mostly quite crammed during summer. One can also rent the location for private events.
