Stunning - one of the few Henley establishments that boasts great food and is truly on the river.

Recently opened (April 2011), La Barca is a Tapas bar and Spanish restaurant with high aspirations. Owned and run by Jose Luis and Kate, who also own online Spanish delicatessen Delicioso, the standard of the cuisine is very high. They have brought across a number of staff from Spain and Gran Canaria (front of house, head chef, sous chef, pastry chef etc) to ensure the most authentic and creative environment.

They have most of the traditional tapas items, but often created with a difference and exquisitely presented. Our calamares were just right, the tortilla was to die for as was the cheese plate. Spicy potatoes could have been a little spicier for my taste, but serving new potatoes gave a nice English twist. The wine list by the glass and bottle is excellent; the award winning moscatel with which we rounded off the night could have kept me happily sitting at the table for another few hours!

But highly recommended for all that. Increasingly I find you cant just assume like you used to that all these places are good. However Le Vin Bis (get the joke - check their address) delivers exactly what you hope for. Great (size and quality) salads, steak, paté and friendly quick service. Parfait!

Packed bar and indeed packed Mews with all of us pale English people trying to feel the Mediterranean vibe.

In contast to the crowded drinking culture downstairs the upstairs restaurant is open and spacious. My goats cheese starter was fine and the sea bass main with new potatoes was excellent. Great venue to meet and have fun with friends in. And our diminutive Argentine waitress wS an absolute star!

Pleasant old fashioned hotel on the much-hotelled Rue de L'Arcade by Place de la Madeleine.

The rack rates are high (as everywhere in Paris) but you should be able to get a good deal through Booking.com etc. My rate was less than half the published price.

My room was large and what I guess we should call "traditionally" furnished - lots of wood and swag. With windows overlooking a side street, it was very quiet.

Pleasant and restful small lounge downstairs and helpful concierge. I didnt try the food nor use the internet (not free), so cant comment on these.

Overall an acceptable 1 / 2 night business stop.

Angenehm altmodisches Hotel auf der mit vielen Hotels versehenen Rue de L'Arcade von Place de la Madeleine.
Die Preisklasse ist hoch (wie überall in Paris), aber Sie sollten in der Lage sein durch Booking.com und sonstiges gutes Geschäft zu machen. Mein Preis war niedriger als die Hälfte der veröffentlichten Preise.
Mein Zimmer war groß und ich denke, wir sollten als "traditionell" eingerichtet bezeichnen - viel Holz und Schmuck. Die Fenster blickten auf eine Seitenstraße und es war somit sehr ruhig.
Angenehme und ruhige kleine Lounge im Untergeschoss und ein hilfsbereiter Concierge. Ich habe dass Essen nicht versucht und auch das Internet nicht benutzt (nicht kostenlos), so kann ich darüber kein Kommentar machen.
Insgesamt - eine akzeptabler Ort für 1 / 2 Nächte auf Geschäftsreise

Hôtel agréable et traditionnel dans la Rue de l'Arcade, une rue pleine d'hôtels à côté de la Place de la Madeleine. Les prix sont élevés (comme partout dans Paris) mais vous devriez pourvoir trouver une offre intéressante sur des sites comme Booking.com . J'ai payé moins de la moitié du prix affiché. Ma chambre était grande et décorée d'une façon qu'on qualifierait certainement de "traditionnelle" : beaucoup de boiseries et de broderies. Les fenêtres donnaient sur une petite rue donc c'était très calme. Un petit salon agréable et paisible au rez de chaussée et une concierge serviable. Je n'ai pas essayé la nourriture, ni utilisé Internet (payant) donc je ne peux pas faire de commentaire à ces sujets. Au final, c'est un hôtel correct pour un voyage d'affaires d'une ou deux nuits.

Agradable hotel de vieja escuela en la hotelera calle de L'Arcade junto a la Place de la Madeleine. Los precios son más bien altos, como en todas partes en París, pero deberías poder conseguir una buena oferta a través de boking.com etc. Mi precio fue menos de la mitad del publicado. Mi cuarto era grande y estaba amueblado tradicionalmente digamos, mucha madera y decoración. Con ventanas que dan a una calle lateral muy tranquila. Agradable y relajante saloncito en el piso de abajo y un conserje servicial. No probé la comida ni usé internet (no era gratis) así que no puedo hablar de ello. En general, una aceptable parada para una o dos noches.

Piacevole hotel vecchio stile nella piena di hotel Rue de L'Arcade vicino Place de la Madeleine. Le tariffe sono care (ovunque in Parigi) ma dovresti riuscire a trovare una buona offerta su Booking.com ecc... La mia tariffa era meno della metà del prezzo pubblicato. La stanza era grande e con quello che dovrebbe essere chiamata arredamento "tradizionale". Le finestre si affacciavano sulla strada laterale, perciò stanza molto tranquilla. Piccolo salotto piacevole e riposante al piano di sotto con portinaio disponibile. Non ho provato il cibo ne Internet (non è gratuito) perciò non posso commentare su questi. Nel complesso una fermata per affari soddisfacente.

On a cold Paris evening this was the perfect and unpretentious retreat.

Perfectly cooked steak, mash potato with olive oil, small salad and, most importantly, large glass of St Estephe. The foie gras was also excellent ( I had to help a colleague out, you understand).

The emphasis at L'Ecluse is very much on the wine - and on Bordeaux in particular. Tasting glasses, drinking glasses and an extensive bottle wine list. The smallish traditional menu supports the wine.

On this cold evening, L'Ecluse was warming and cosy. But despite the crowding and bustling the service was friendly and attentive. There is a small courtyard / garden at the back despite so should be nice in summer as well.

L'Ecluse is located right on Place de la Madeleine just along from Hediard.
