CineWorld Yeovil - Yeovil

Unit 1, Yeo Leisure Park, Yeovil, Somerset BA20 1NP

22-11-2008

One of the best cinemas ever! Arcades, few restaurants nearby, centrally located. It is never overcrowed even during the weekends. Even if you go at the last moment it is guaranteed that you will find a seat. The seating is comfy and the sound is brilliant. The staff is really helpful and pleasant.
Hint: you can bring a can of soda they will never search you:)

The Baltic - Newcastle upon tyne

Gateshead Quays, South Shore Road , Newcastle upon tyne NE8 3BA

22-11-2008

Baltic is supposed to be the biggest gallery of contemporary art ,however , during my visit I was rather disappointed because of the few and scattered projects and exhibitions around the building. 20 minutes were enough for me to see all the exhibits! In such a huge builduing you would not even imagine that the exhibits are not the main theme of Baltic but instead its cafeteria, shop and restaurant! Positives: I really liked the view on top of the building where you can see all the magnificent and characteristic Tyne bridges. Families can enjoy their visit since Baltic has a kids area. Cafe and Restaurant.
Admission is free

The Last Post - Beeston

Chilwell Road, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire NG9 1AA

16-11-2008

This is the J D Wetherspoons of Beeston - a rather large pub just off the main square. They serve the usual Wetherspoons fare, including the awesome beer and burger deal, wednesday curry nights and sunday roasts. The food is always well cooked and we’ve never experienced any delays in service. The bartenders also know their jobs well and are quick to service the sometimes large crowds. There is a separate family seating area, and a range of different tables - ones with couches, chairs, high chairs and booths to suit your tastes. The smoking ban has been tough on this place, however, because they dont have a big enough space outdoors for smokers. It’s just a four meter square space with a few aluminium chairs and no heaters. I think this makes the pub a bit less popular with smokers now.

Commercial Inn - Beeston

19 Wollaton Road, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire NG9 2NG

16-11-2008

This is a pleasant pub, located near the centre of Beeston. The drinks in here are noticeably overpriced, despite no visible reason for them being so - such as rare or specialty brews, or anything particularly special about the pub. It is set up as a bit of a male haunt, with large plasma screen TV’s that are always projecting the latest matches, and pool tables for when there isnt a match to watch. Behind the pub is a pleasant smoking garden, with a section walled off and thoroughly heated with infrared heaters, and another large plasma screen just for the smokers.

artois2602 since you wrote this review the commercial inn has been taken over my a horrible old man who has turned the pub into a brothel so avoid!

Cafe Nero - Beeston

48 High Road, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire NG9 2JP

16-11-2008

Cafe nero Beeston has the quality coffee and overpriced snacks and sandwiches you see in every Nero, but it also boasts an especially pleasant atmosphere. Located at the middle of High Street, the cozy outlet is decorated with dark wooden furniture and a few couches. Following the smoking ban they converted their back garden into a smokers garden, which is perfectly convenient except for the rather dreary views onto delivery back yards.
The staff are pleasant, and tables are almost always available. If you are a regular you should get a loyalty card which gives you a free coffee with every nine purchased.

Bean Espresso Bar - Beeston

1 Stoney Street, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire NG9 2LA

16-11-2008

This is a pleasant little espresso bar with fairly short opening hours but to make up for it - some of the best coffee. The coffees are of a standard range - espressos, lattes, americanos, cappuccinos, mocha and hot chocolate. Their teas are standard except for a very pleasant Chai latte, that you should try if you havent already.
The seating is partly indoors and partly outdoors but the grand total of tables is a modest ten-ish. The staff are quite helpful, and the tables are always cleaned in a timely manner. On a sunny day it’s always pleasant to enjoy your coffee in the sunshine at an outdoor table. For the smokers out there this is also a rare opportunity to enjoy your coffee with a cigarette.

Dinos Dial A Pizza - Nottingham

138 High Road, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire NG9 2LN

16-11-2008

Dino’s is the perfect place for delivery, it is open till late night times (2 am) and apart from pizza burgers, fish and chips and kebab can be delivered. The only disadvantage of this pizzeria is that if you wait at the shop for your pizza the seats are really dirty so it is preferable just to order from your place. The food tastes great but you should not expect traditionally made italian pizzas. There are also impressive deals and generally the food is cheap. Delivery within 30 minutes. If you are searching for good inexpensive delivery this one is guaranteed.

Sainsburys - Beeston

Stoney Street, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire NG9 2LA

16-11-2008

Sainsburys would be a great grocery store if only there was a bus station next to it. Accessibility is the most annoying problem so if you plan to buy lots of stuff it is advisable to visit the store by car. Parking is free and cycle parking is available in front of the store. The store is big enough with a large variety of products and especially the ethnic product range is satisfactory. The prices are reasonable considering the students budget limits.
Open till 22 o’clock until Saturdays and on Sundays up to 16 0’clock.
Facilities: atm, phones and toilet with baby change facilities.

Greggs - Newcastle upon tyne

77 Grainger Street, Newcastle upon tyne NE1 5JF

16-11-2008

Located next to the central train station, Greggs is a good place not only for travellers but also to those who want to have a snack without having to wait for a long time. It is not a big shop so the variety and availability of products especially during evening times depends on luck. The quality of products is always high and special attention to hygiene is given as
I found this shop to be thoroughly clean. The staff is helpful and the service is generally fast. Apart from snacks the bread range is satisfactory but on the other hand i am not a big fan of Gregg’s bread but thats just me.
Coffee is available.

Waterstone's - Yeovil

37A Middle Street, Yeovil, Somerset BA20 1LG

16-11-2008

This is a very small edition of your usual Waterstones, probably the smallest I have seen. For economy of space they seem to have crammed books into absolutely every little corner to the point where it can actually be difficult to turn around. However, you will still find all the bestsellers here and most other popular books here. The only problem is that because there’s only one or two copy of all books except the bestsellers, there is a high possibility that what you’re lookng for just sold out. You can however make orders through the till and it will be delivered for pickup into store. This can be quite convenient because waterstones order system can be used to obtain virtually any book that is in print at the time.
