Opposite the Ashmolean museum, the playhouse is perfectly placed in the heart of historical Oxford. After some years of financial difficulty, the playhouse is back with a bang. This is THE place to come for Shakespeare in Oxfordshire. That being said, there is also a range of contemporary and student productions here throughout the year. The playhouse is only about a 10-15 minute walk from the train station, so it's very accessible to visitors too.
